Vapor blasting (also known as wet blasting or liquid honing) is rapidly becoming the number one choice for applications requiring the highest quality of surface finish. Prior to vapor blasting, we degrease all components in our spray wash cabinet utilizing hot water and specially formulated chemicals. The combination of these two machines makes for an amazing finish ideal for restoration of carburetors and other small components. The spray wash cabinet will degrease large items such as transmission cases and differential pumpkins. It’s Alive Automotive offers this ultimate cleaning service. You can even drop off the parts to be cleaned then pick them up ready to install on your project.

VIXEN AQUABLAST 915

It’s Alive utilizes a Vixen Aquablast 915 for vapor blasting. Vixen is known for world class results with a finish and speed that is unsurpassed in the industry. Vapor blasting is rapidly becoming the number one choice for applications requiring the highest quality of surface finishing. The key to vapor blasting is that the finish is produced through the flow of a water borne abrasive, resulting in a finer finish due to the flushing action of the water. Unlike dry blasting where the finish is produced by sheer force of media impact, no media is impregnated into the component nor any dust created by the breakup of the media. This method is completely dust free which is ideal for any workshop environment. The abrasives are easily removed from the surfaces and all crevices through both low and high pressure water rinsing eliminating the risk of abrasive contamination.

KARCHER CUDA SERIES

Although our Vixen Aquablast 915 will easily degrease components; to avoid contamination of the media slurry we generally do not use it for this purpose. Instead, nearly all components are placed in our Karcher Cuda Series spray wash cabinet prior to going into the vapor blaster. The detergents and hot water introduced into the spray wash cabinet remove even the most stubborn grease and will accommodate large items such as cylinder heads, transmission cases and differential pumpkins. The combination of hot water chemical washing and vapor blasting results in a truly impressive finish ideal for detailing and restorations.
